Bournemouth Beach: Looking East towards Hengistbury Head.

Looking East towards Hengistbury Head.

Trip down south again today. More family matters. We did, however, get chance to wander along the clifftop, from where I got this shot of Bournemouth Beach.

This is, of course, a fairly traditional shot. Being high up, there is a good view across the bay. With the weather being so clear today, Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight are both clearly visible in the distance.

The pier, although not one of the most attractive in the country, is a good landmark. The 1960s theatre sadly closed recently. It is now an adventure and climbing centre. The main fabric of the theatre remains, so conversion back in the future is not out of the question.

Although not high season yet, there are still quite a few people enjoying the sand. Some are enjoying the delights of the water. The blue skies are an indication of the heat today.
