Macro Shot of Straws.
Not having chance to take a photograph during the day, the plan was to take one this evening. The rain put paid to that idea! Remembering a box of colourful straws on the boat, I decided to take a macro shot of them.
When I first had the idea, the box was full! With less in there, more space appears. Ideally, this kind of shot should be set up with the camera on a tripod, and carefully lined up.
For this image, the box of straws were carefully balanced, and the camera held by hand. A set of macro tubes were attached between the camera and the lens.
Using a large aperture, the depth of focus is very short. This has created the very abstract look.
