The Red Lion, Cropredy.
We have left Banbury, and moved up the canal a bit. Tonight’s photograph is of The Red Lion Cropredy.
It is tucked out of the way, in a narrow side street behind the church. Having said that, in the distance (by the illuminated tree) you can just make out the bridge over the canal. Very handy for boaters!
The building dates back to the 18th Century, is thatched and part of a terrace. The next house going away from the camera is called The Malt House. One assumes that this had something to do with the pub in the past.
It is the shame that the pub sign and lighting is in such poor condition. Makes it look like it belongs in an episode of “The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin”!
