The Former Dry Dock Pub, Windmill End, Netherton.

Former Dry Dock Pub, Windmill End, Netherton.

Plenty of evidence of its former use.

Located just down from the canal at Bumble Hole Nature Reserve in Windmill End. This was part of the “Little Pub” chain, who at one time also owned the Mad O’Rourkes Pie Factory in Tipton. Apart from the “Desperate Dan” pies also served here, the bar here was also famous for being a narrow boat! It appears that following a take over, the chain was not run particularly well and the Dry Dock Pub was a casualty.

Although subsequently converted into flats (two on each floor of the main building and one behind), there is not much evidence of the main building being in current use. Still, it is nice to see some of the old features still extant.
