Favourite Mooring.
One of the joys of living on a narrow boat is that if we want to move home, we can! Just untie the mooring ropes (after turning the engine on, of course) – and cruise!
The marina is very convenient. We have all we need to hand. However, it’s not what we signed up to. So, today after church, we upped sticks, and cruised to a favourite mooring.
We are at Northcroft Park, just on the other side of Newbury. It is just off the canal – it’s a bit of river that is just about navigable. We like it here, because it is quiet, Oakley has lots of room to run around and play, but it is still handy for the town.
The rain has come late today. We cruised this afternoon in the dry. However, not long after we tied up, the rain came and the temperature dropped. As you can see, the fire has been lit!
