Chrissie: Guide Dog Puppy.
Meeting our Oakley was clearly a tiring experience for Guide Dog Puppy Chrissie! They had a wonderful time playing and getting to know each other.
We have raised the money to name this pup in memory of my wife’s mother. Today was the first day we have met up with her. For some reason Guide Dogs, whether experienced, in training, retired, withdrawn or breeding, always seem to have a special relationship – even if they have never met.
It will be an honour to follow the development of “our” Guide Dog Puppy. They become life-changers, as we know from first-hand experience. This is why we chose to raise money to name a puppy. We have another fund going (our third, now). This is to raise enough to name a puppy in memory of my own mother.
If you would like to contribute, then please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/guidedogoakley3.
Unlike Oakley, who is black, Chrissie, being golden/yellow, she is much easier to photograph! Here, she is in the arms of her “Puppy Walker” – the person who trains them during their first year. We have nothing but admiration for these people.
