Hinchley Manor Operatic Society.
As Monty Python would say – “And now for something completely different”! Today, we have been in London, enjoying a performance of Old Time Music Hall by the Hinchley Manor Operatic Society.
Our connection with this group, in case you might wonder, is our eldest daughter is Musical Director. For those of a certain generation, this show was along the lines of the famous TV series (which I used to enjoy) called “The Good Old Days”.
Today’s photograph is a snapshot (literally!) of an act called “If I were not upon the stage”. The next line of which is “something else I’d like to be”. The characters come out one at a time. They act out there own particular alternative employment. As each actor from Hinchley Manor Operatic Society comes out, they perform their own bit, and then the previous person adds their bit, until they are all singing and acting.
They are all doing something different but, of course, they all inter-react with each other, with increasingly amusing consequences! The more it goes on, the more out of control it appears to get. Timing is of the essence.
I enjoyed taking a number of shots whilst watching this performance by Hinchley Manor Operatic Society. The good lighting, combined with the black backdrop, have provided an excellent contrast. A high ISO was needed to get a sensible exposure and aperture using the available lighting without flash.
