Rugby Radio Station: Open fields soon to be built on.

Open fields soon to be built on.

Last time we were here, the last of the Rugby Radio Station masts were still standing. Now, they are gone, and the area is scheduled to be built on. This view will change dramatically.

This morning was a beautiful, misty start to the day. The last vestiges can be seen in this shot. Breaking the rules, this is looking straight into the sun. The masts would have been on opposite side of the canal, roughly along the skyline.

The area is now planned for development. However, this is already way behind schedule. All the fields that can be seen on the far side of the canal will be built on. The pleasant, rural nature of these moorings will be changed forever.

So, enjoy this view of Hillmorton. In a year or so, this could be gone. Development is taking place further along the canal too. It may just be a matter of time before us boaters are cruising through a built up area, the Rugby Radio Station a distant memory.
