The Old Lamb Hotel, Theale: C15th Thatched Building.

C15th Thatched Building.

This is one of the most attractive buildings in the town, and the only thatched one. The Old Lamb Hotel, Theale, is a former Coaching Inn on the north side of Church Street – the main A4.

Accommodation now appears to be in more modern outbuildings at the rear. According to the website, only the dining facility is in the main original building.

It is listed Grade II. However, although this suggests the building dates back to the late C17th, with more modern alterations over the next two centuries.

With the weather being a bit dull, I have taken the liberty of applying some HDR effects to today’s photograph of The Old Lamb Hotel, Theale.

I’m very keen to get a photo of the old skittle alley that was attached to the old lamb – do you have one or know where I could obtain one?
    Many thanks

Sadly, I don’t know. Hopefully someone might respond, and it would be great if they could post it here!

      Thanks for your interest.
