Tim's One Photograph a Day

Snowdrops by the Roadside.

Snowdrops.

Snowdrops in the Verge.

Brightness in the Verge.

Snowdrops are the first indications of spring. Out for a walk this morning, I noticed this small cluster in the verge.

Just a tiny little group. All on their own. Easy enough to miss if you are travelling in a car but, walking along the road, they were there to see.

Even though it was a dull day, there was a reasonable amount of light. However, this did make the resultant photograph rather flat.

A wide aperture has placed the focus on the centre of the image, blurring the background to make it less distracting.

I have therefore given this some HDR treatment. This has brightened the white of the snowdrops themselves, and has enhanced the blur of the background, making the flowers stand out. The final image has something of an artistic look about it, almost painting-like.
