Tim's One Photograph a Day

Oozells Street Loop at Night, Birmingham.

Oozells Street Loop.

Oozells Street Loop.

A whole new aspect after dark.

Continuing on from yesterday’s photograph of Sherborne Wharf. This is very near the same location, on the same stretch of canal. The wharf is just behind where this picture was taken, which is looking from underneath Sheepcote Street Bridge. This would have been a very busy scene in its heyday, but now only sees the occasional private / hire boat, trip boats and those wishing to moor in quieter area. This is the Oozells Street Loop of the old BCN Main Line.

It is now surrounded by modern development. Even so, it still is an attractive scene. In the distance the historic crossover bridges for the towpaths at the Old Turn Junction. The 30 second exposure smooths the water out like glass, with crystal-clear reflections.
