The Angel Hotel.
Many towns had their old Coaching Inns. In the days of the horse and carriage, these would be stopping points on the journey. The archway in the centre would have led to the stables in those days. However, with this facility no longer needed, this has now been incorporated into the interior of the building, although the archway remains as a reminder of times gone by. Dating back to around 1600, the Grade II Listed Angel Hotel is still key in the local transport network, as it hosts the main bus stops in Coleford.
Again today I have stuck with the Yongnou prime lens. Being much lighter, it make the kit easier to carry. I still find myself reaching for the “zoom” ring which this lens doesn’t have! This photo mixes modern with history, as the local Stagecoach bus which has just crept into frame waiting to leave for Gloucester, replaces the stage coaches of old.
