Violas.
Our eldest daughter is a musician. So, when she posted a photograph of her Violas, there was opportunity for a bit of leg-pulling.
However, we too have some of these beautiful little plants. We have a roof-garden of pots, and at the moment, they are a blaze of colour. Considering the lack of attention they get, they are doing really well.
There are several variations of the humble Viola, which belong to the Violet family. Up to 600 varieties, apparently. Some are annual, others perennial. Which ours are is anybody’s guess!
Whilst we may not be experts in matters horticultural, we do know a good display when we see one. We do our best with our roof-top boxes. And, if our display gives others pleasure as well as ourselves, then we are happy.
Our little Violas are doing us proud. We will shortly be planting up some more boxes with our choice of fresh herbs, which we can harvest as required. Maybe even a tomato plant on the bow deck again!
