Tributes to George Michael Outside his Goring House.

Tributes to George Michael.

Tributes to George Michael: Shrine to the Singer.

Shrine to the Singer.

We have arrived in Goring-on-Thames. I walked around the village taking many photographs. On leaving the church, I discovered these tributes to George Michael.

I hadn’t twigged he had a home here. Coming out of the foot entrance to the church, I saw a few posters and photographs. It was only as I got close enough to see what they said that I realised what they were. And whose home this had been.

So many messages from so many fans. Many from overseas. Expressing sadness at the sudden loss. Many words clearly carefully chosen.

“God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you
and whispered come to me.”

I am sure many who have suffered the loss of a loved one – particularly too soon in life, can identify with this. Take a moment.

These tributes to George Michael show how many lives he touched with the joy of his music. This track has to be one of my all time favourites:

I also think this version of Elton John’s “Don’t let the Sun go Down on Me” is probably even better than the original:
