Holly and Berries.
A particularly grey day today. I took the camera out and started looking around for something to photograph. A splash of colour was what was needed. Even remembered to pack the flash!
A mile or so into the walk, this gorgeous display of Holly and Berries struck me. Of course – the perfect image, capturing the winter season. I took a good look around the tree, and lined up the photograph. Set the aperture wide to minimise the depth of field. It looked good in the viewfinder. A gentle squeeze on the shutter. Image captured. Checked the LED screen on the back of the camera. Perfect. Except for one thing. A very brief message spelling disaster. “No card in camera”! Yes, I had left it in the computer.
What to do? A long way back just to get the card. However, I did, of course, have my phone in my pocket. OK, the camera isn’t perfect, by any means. But, it can produce a pretty good image with a bit of care. I turned it onto the “Pro” settings, giving me some control over the image. Lined it up and touched the shutter icon. Although not the image I had originally intended, a perfectly acceptable one. A bit of editing (in Affiniti Photo), and the result is above.
