Tim's One Photograph a Day

Hanging Basket of Flowers.

Sun Drenched Hanging Basket.

hanging basket: Summer Colour.

Summer Colour.

Nothing says summer more than a colourful hanging basket. Trailing flowers, loads of colour. The sun shining down on them.

We were at a charity concert this afternoon, raising money for Guide Dogs. Oakley was an invited guest, so we had to come to! I took some photographs of the concert, but also took some outside.

The concert was in an old barn. The shot I took of that was good. But it was the flowers that attracted my attention. The way the sun was catching them. Highlighting them against the dark background of the covered walkway outside the barn.

Plenty of light, so a nice fast shutter speed. The aperture kept wide to shorten the depth of field. Throws the background sufficiently out of focus to make the flowers stand out even more.

Summer in a single snap!
