The Fun of Taking a Family Portrait.
What is it they say? Never work with children and animals! I was fortunate with my last family portrait. Although Hallie was bored and fed up – in fact, although everyone was tired, they all looked happy at just the right moment.
Not so today. We were in charge of our grand-daughter for part of the day. As part of this, we went over to her Great Grandfather. I was hoping I would get the opportunity for a good photograph of the two of them together.
Unfortunately, she had had a sleep in the car, and woken up a bit on the grumpy side. Try as we might, we couldn’t get the smiling face we really wanted. However, all family portrait photographs are valuable – each one has its own memory.
This will remain a treasured photograph of the two of them together. Maybe another day I can get a better one. It will remind us of a very happy day, helping our daughter and other half settle into their new home.
