Tim's One Photograph a Day

A Red Moon in the Daytime Sky.

Red Moon: A Touch of Sahara Dust.

A Touch of Sahara Dust.

As a nation, we are always fascinated by the weather. It seems to be a natural topic of conversation. Today, though, was exceptional. This Red Moon was glimpsed through the clouds.

The day had started off fairly normal. But as the morning progressed, the sky got darker and darker. The light went an eerie orangey colour. It was then that I spotted the red moon in the midst of the clouds.

Of course, by the time I had got the camera out, the cloud had completely covered it again! It was a case of waiting for the clouds to blow across, and to watch for a gap. Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait too long, and got a few good shots. This one turned out the best, with a few wisps of cloud just blowing across before concealing it again altogether.
