Tim's One Photograph a Day

Morning Reflections in the River.

Reflections.

Reflections: Trees reflected in the River Kennet.

Trees reflected in the River Kennet.

This is the view I am greeted with in the morning. Our mooring in Newbury (just around the corner from Victoria Park) is just perfect for catching reflections in the morning.

As I am looking due west, this is lit up by the early morning sun. This shot was taken around 6:45am. The water is reflecting the deep blue from the sky, the trees are brightly lit.

The scene exudes peace and serenity. Hard to believe that about 100 years ago the river would have continued through where these trees are now into the wharfs. It would have been a hive of activity as boats were loaded and unloaded.

Now, we can enjoy the reflections, disturbed only be the occasional leisure canal boat, kayaks and canoes. Oh yes, and ducks, geese and swans!
