Bournemouth Beach – A Study in Monochrome.

Something completely different today. We have left the boat, and returned to Bournemouth for a while.

As we arrived, it looked like there would be a fantastic sunset. I decided to walk down to Bournemouth Beach to investigate. At the top of the cliff, the colour was quite spectacular, but there was too much cloud in the wrong place to make an interesting photograph.

My next target was the pier. I got down on the beach and took a few shots, which were reasonable, but not very exciting. On the way back up the cliff, the view across the bay caught my attention. Rather then get the tripod out again, I increased the ISO and opened the aperture. I could then hand hold the shot.

Playing around with it on my return, although it looked good in colour, I prefered the monochrome version, which is what I present here. It’s something a little different and not what I usually do.

I would be interested to know what you think of this image.
