Nearby to where we are moored is this weir. Using a long exposure captures the flow of the water, giving it a milky smoothness.

A short exposure would freeze the movement. You would be able to see the splashes of the flowing water as it hits the river below. However, by using a long exposure, the essence of the movement is composed.

In juxtaposition with this, whilst you can sense the flow of the weir, the river itself looks calm and peaceful. You can also see a separate channel where water can flow from the higher level to the lower.
