The Colour of Tobermory.

View made Famous by a Children’s Programme!

Today, we have visited the Isle of Mull. The ferry from Kilchoan on the mainland (near where we are staying) comes straight in to Tobermory.

The village has been made famous by the Children’s TV programme “Ballamory”. The colourful buildings along the harbour being the main feature. It is certainly quite something to behold!

You arrive on the ferry at the terminal just behind the white building (called the Pier Café, where we had lunch) on the right. So, you don’t actually see this colourful vista until after you disembark.

We walked along Main Street, which follows the harbour. This takes you round to the fisherman’s pier and then further round to the car park. This has been built over some of the original harbour (so we learnt from the Distillery tour we went on, but that’s another story!). It was from here that today’s photograph was taken.

When the lighting was at its best for this shot of Tobermory, it was low tide. Although I took a photograph then, I went back again later for this one. The tide is better, but the reflections are not so good as the sun has moved round. However, I am still pleased with the overall result.
