Old London Apprentice: Illuminated at Dusk.

Illuminated at Dusk.

With the evenings beginning to draw in, I can start enjoying my dusk photography again. Today I feature The Old London Apprentice, Newbury.

Having enjoyed a particularly good meal here, I decided to return armed with camera and tripod. With the positioning of the street lights and the pedestrian crossing, I decided to go to the right-hand side so I could feature them without them being in the way.

Even at this time of night, this is quite a busy road. This makes it fairly easy to include the light trails from vehicles. However, just beyond the crossing the road becomes one-way, so not many vehicles come towards you.

Therefore, it was a case of waiting for an oncoming vehicle before pressing the shutter. I am particularly pleased with the sky in tonight’s shot. The timing has given this lovely dark blue, but the clouds are outside my control!

Often, I like to fill the frame with the subject. This shot of The Old London Apprentice benefits being seen in context, with the inclusion of the street scene.
