Tim's One Photograph a Day

Rose Hips against the Sky.

Red contrasting the blue sky.

There are loads of these beautiful red fruits around here. These Rose Hips are a glorious blaze of colour in the green fields and against the blue sky.

They are believed to be extremely healthy. Packed with Vitamin C, they are often made into a syrup – something I remember from my childhood.

Teas, bread, jam and marmalade can also be made from these. Perhaps of more interest – wine too!

Because it was rather windy out today, I have set the ISO and shutter speed fairly high. Wanting to capture the shot with the sky as a backdrop, the higher branches were, of course, swaying quite considerably.
