Tim's One Photograph a Day

Padworth Lock reflections at dusk.

Second attempt at this shot – this time remembering to check the composition before taking the picture, not waiting until editing it! There is a complete justaposition in this photograph.

In the foreground is Padworth Lock. A scene of total serenity and peace. Lit purely by the remains of today’s daylight. The smooth water reflecting like a mirror.

In the background, however, is the West Berkshire Recycling Centre. A scene of noise and dirt. Lit now by artificial light, which is just breaking through the trees.

Another long exposure, with the light balance edited to enhance the shot (lightening shadows, darkening the sky). For comparison, and as a bonus for today, below is the same photograph converted to monochrome.

The same shot converted to Black & White.
