Badsey's Wharf, Hillmorton: Atmospheric dusk.

Atmospheric dusk.

Between the middle and bottom set of locks. This is the view looking north. On the right is Badsey’s Wharf, Hillmorton. The rear of the two boats is called Badsey.Normally with a 30 second exposure photograph, the water would look really smooth. Especially on a canal. However, tonight the wind was blowing hard – and you can see how choppy the water was!

It was difficult to get a long exposure shot with the high wind. The movement is quite apparent by looking at the trees and the telegraph wire.

The effect of the wind in the clouds is very effective. Distant lights illuminating behind the trees in the distance. Lights on Badsey’s Wharf, Hillmorton lighting the foreground. A second light on the end of the building on the right came on right in the final seconds of the shot. If it had been on for any longer, it would have over-powered it. Fortunately, it has enhanced the lighting.
