The Oxford Canal at Night.

We have moved back above the locks. Although looking very rural, we are not that far from Hillmorton. Just to the right are the main railway lines to London and Northampton. This is another long exposure shot – just over 10 minutes. The white light trails to the left are from cars on a country lane. The lights in the distance are the south-eastern end of Hillmorton.

I love the colours that can be seen in these night shots. Various artificial lights casting their glow, either directly or indirectly. The time delay blurring the movements of the clouds. Even the stars provide light strips due to the rotation of the earth during the shot.
