Tim's One Photograph a Day

Greenham Camp – the Green Steel Building.

Green Steel Building.

Green Steel Building: The Old Command Centre, Greenham Air Base.

My photographs of the former Greenham Common Airbase have attracted someone who used to work there. In this green steel building, to be precise!

Interestingly, I hadn’t been aware of this part of the estate. Looking at Google Maps, the original layout is clearer. Because buildings are being demolished, and roads closed, access to this area is not so obvious.

However, having now learnt of this building, I took a trip round to this area. Previously, it was the Command Centre. Now, it houses a telephone answering service.

Underneath, though, there is a hidden secret. A bunker.
