Looking through the Arched window!

Photographing stained glass windows in churches was a hobby of my father. You can understand why. The artwork and craftwork is amazing. The colours vivid against the dark surrounds.

Although the themes are often similar, each one is unique. This one, the East window in St Peter’s Church, Brimpton, is a particularly fine example. We are about to move from Aldermaston, so I decided to take a photograph today of something local to the area.

We have passed this church a few times on our way in to Newbury. Being a lovely sunny day, I stopped to investigate. My original thought was to take a photograph of the exterior. However, there were too many trees too close, and I didn’t have the wide angle lens with me!

Fortunately, the church was open. Sadly, this is unusual nowadays. But, I was rewarded by a beautiful interior, and this East window.
