Dandelion Clock: Silhouetted against the Setting Sun.

Silhouetted against the Setting Sun.

After a fairly dull and drisly day, this evening the sun broke through. I went down to Fobney Island Nature Reserve, and spotted this Dandelion Clock.

There was an eerie light against the dark clouds. I was able to position myself so that I could cover the sun with the head, and create this halo effect.

By getting close to the plant, I could fill most of the frame, and blur the background. This makes it stand out from its surroundings.

The sun highlights the stalk beautifully. The detail within the head can also be seen clearly.
